Project Description:

13’2” Between Us is a 40-minute multi-media performance that integrates animation, choreography, audio fiction and new media elements. Based on the lives of four exiled characters: a translator, a radio broadcaster, a farmer and a pole vaulter, this work reimagines the spectacle of the 1930’s Los Angeles Olympic Games within context of their written letters and ghost lines of communication across the Pacific Ocean.

Part immersive radio play and part interactive experience, audience members are cast in various international sporting event roles. Their actions over the course of the performance trigger media elements that unveil branching perspectives that seek to revitalize narratives that have been omitted from ‘official’ histories.  

13’2’’ Between Us will premiere in March 2025.
